J. Harlon Reece for Mayor of the Town of Herndon, 2008
Meet J. Harlon Reece Experience Issues Volunteer

Welcome

Fellow citizens of the Town of Herndon, it has been my privilege to serve as a member of your Town Council since July 2000.  I sincerely appreciate the trust that you have placed in me and I have taken very seriously the responsibility that has come with that trust.  I believe my record clearly demonstrates that I have been a dedicated public servant who has consistently tried to do the right thing for our town.  I hope you agree and that I have earned your support as I now seek to become your mayor.

Our community has become divided as we have dealt with difficult issues recently.  The image of our town has suffered as the result of local, regional, and national publicity of the controversies involved.  As your mayor, I will work hard to re-unite our community and make it possible for us all to, once again, say that we are proud to live in Herndon.  I believe that I have demonstrated the ability to work with and gain the respect of most of the residents in our town including many who have disagreed with me on some matters.

If we choose to work together, I am confident that Herndon will continue to be a sought after place to live, work, and to do business.  If we continue in an “I win, you lose,” uncompromising mindset, we all lose and our sense of community will continue to erode.  With your help, I will lead us on a path to renewed optimism for our future.
